It is very important for everyone to be able to experience the natural world at its best regularly so as to inspire a passion for protecting it, but also as it has proven mental health benefits. Across the UK, people are working to improve the accessibility of local green spaces and raise awareness of the natural world that exists not just in countries with exotic rainforests or coral reefs, but in the likes of our own forests and gardens. To ensure that everyone has the best experience of nature, it is important to keep our environment clean and tidy. Do not drop litter when you are out and about, especially cigarette butts and chewing gum. Pick up any litter you see when you can, or take part in beach and park clean up events.
In 2019, we will be hosting clean ups across Scotland, as well as creating equipment hubs, the first of which has been generously supported by Scotmid. To help make as many regional hubs of equipment as possible, we are looking for volunteers to help us store and distribute equipment to local individuals and groups. We are also looking for individuals and businesses to help fund as many equipment hubs as possible across all of Scotland.
If you would like to volunteer with us or help sponsor an equipment hub in a particular area, please get in touch on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter or send us an email. To simply get involved in our clean ups, please keep an eye on our events page.
